Privacy Policy

Short version: we collect only what we need to audit and fix your website, we never sell your data, and the only advertising on this site is one Adsterra ad unit shown on return visits (see Cookies and advertising). Details below. Questions: hello@seoctopus.online.

What we collect

• What you give us at checkout: your name, email address, business name and website address, from the get-started form.
• Payment details: handled entirely by Stripe. Your card number never touches our servers; we see only that a payment succeeded, plus the receipt details Stripe shares with merchants.
• Your website's public pages: our audit reads your site the same way Google does, to find what is broken.
• Standard server logs: like almost every website, our server records the IP address and requested page for each visit, kept briefly for security and troubleshooting.

What we use it for

• Running your audit and delivering your report and fixes.
• Emailing you about your order: findings, delivery, receipts.
• Nothing else. We do not send marketing you did not ask for.

What we never do

We never sell your data. Ever. Not your contact details, not your audit results, not your traffic. No exceptions.

Who we share it with

• Stripe, to process your payment (Stripe's privacy policy).
• Our email provider, to deliver your report to your inbox.
• Adsterra, the ad network behind the single ad unit on this site (see Cookies and advertising). It receives no order, audit or contact details from us.
• Authorities, only if the law genuinely requires it.

Cookies and advertising

This site sets no analytics cookies and runs no analytics trackers. Fonts load from Google Fonts, which receives a standard font request when the page loads.

Advertising (Adsterra). This site shows one ad unit (an Adsterra "Social Bar") served by Adsterra, a third-party ad network. It is not loaded on your first visit to the site from a given browser, and never on the get-started, order or thank-you pages. To keep that first visit ad-free, your browser's local storage holds a marker that you have visited before. Adsterra states that its script may place a cookie in your browser and that it processes pseudonymous information tied to browsing events: a pseudonymous user id, your device or browser user agent, timestamps, ad impressions and ad clicks. Adsterra states that it does not collect or store personally identifiable information such as your name, email address or billing details. We do not pass your name, email, website address or audit results to Adsterra. See Adsterra's privacy policy and cookies policy. Blocking or clearing cookies in your browser removes the Adsterra cookie.

How long we keep it

Order details and audit reports are kept as long as needed to support your order and meet bookkeeping obligations. Server logs rotate out automatically.

Your rights

Email hello@seoctopus.online to ask what we hold about you, to correct it, or to have it deleted, and a human will handle it. Depending on where you live you may have additional statutory rights; we honor those too.

Governing law

SEOctopus operates from California, United States. This policy is governed by the laws of the State of California, alongside any statutory privacy rights you hold where you live.
